New Silbatone Products for 2010
 |
Featured in a world debut at 2010 CES, we are proud to present the APORIA IRIS
Special Edition.
This is a revoiced edition of our flagship APORIA Single Driver Horn loudspeaker system.
The standard APORIA is tuned to provide full-bodied sound on strings, orchestral, and vocal music. In the APORIA IRIS Special Edition, subtle tuning adjustments shift the tonality toward a more lively & forward sound for the jazz lover.
Outfitted in a distinctive color that sets it apart from the crowd, the sonic presentation of the APORIA IRIS provides a different flavor, but we think you will find it very tasty indeed! |
Our exhibit at CES will also feature the new Silbatone PHONO PREAMPLIFIER, featuring an entirely new concept in phono stage design.
It is often said, and usually true, that there is nothing new in vacuum tube design but this preamplifer is an exception.
Our never-before-seen implementation achieves a gain of over 10000x from input to EQ section using one voltage amplifier tube!
The circuit is built around exotic Siemens D3a and Bendix 6900 vacuum tubes. The step up transformer uses vacuum-smelted pure silver litz wire wound on oversized amorphous cores and the LCR RIAA EQ section features custom nickel core inductors. There are no off-the-shelf solutions in this preamp design.
Like everything Silbatone creates, the phono preamplifer is built to the highest possible mechanical, electronic, and aesthetic standards. Circuity is constructed on thick teflon boards using silver litz wiring and housed in a milled aluminum two box chassis system.
And like every Silbatone product, the PHONO PREAMPLIFER will surprise you with a sound that is at once remarkably fresh and comfortable. It is super low noise, very high resolution and free and open sounding, offering the very finest MC phono performance available.
A perfect partner for the Silbatone 300B integrated amplifers for the analog enthusiast seeking the best in vacuum tube musical reproduction.
As our initial offering in source equipment, we are pleased to present a masterpiece of precision engineering, the SILBATONE T1 TURNTABLE.
The Silbatone T1 incorporates a variety of high-technology refinements, including magnetic suspension of the platter, oil bath decoupling of drive system, and a costly ceramic bearing.
The heart of the T1 is a brushless DC (BLDC) motor driven by an analog power amplifier and speed controlled by a three phase 5V sine wave open loop circuit.

Obviously, this system is a far more expensive and complex approach than a stepper motor or standard DC motor controlled by a variable voltage source, but it provides the state of the art in stability and precise control.
The Silbatone T1 weighs a substantial 90kg. A high degree of inertial stability is provided by a 30kg platter using an acrylic construction, a material long in favor due to its self-damping properies and mechanical impedance similar to that of vinyl. A heavy edge clamp is included with the system and provision is made for mounting up to three 10" or 12" tonearms.
This is our favorite design among the many top line modern turntables we have owned and auditioned, providing quiet and highly dynamic playback with our favorite Ortofon SPU and van den Hul cartridges.
Due to the mechanical nature of turntables, discussions often revolve around technical factors. However, the important measure of the quality of a turntable ultimately depends on how well it plays music. The Silbatone T1 is an impressive piece of machnery but we offer it to our public as an uncompromising analog source worthy to be included in a Silbatone audio system.
